Cenc, the chic little sister of our other favorite, Bar Parry (and Balthazar’s Kitchen too - still on our list!). TBH, the Vijzelstraat was in desperate need of a romantic yet lively spot like Cenc. We often found ourselves a bit lost in this part of the city - not anymore. No need to endlessly search for the perfect date-night spot - just walk in, no reservations needed!

Their cozy terrace starts filling up from 16:00, catching the last two hours of golden-hour glow - perfect for a sunset aperitif. And while the bar snacks could keep you going all evening, we say: save room for dinner inside. The French bistro-style menu is worth it, and the interior? White table linnen! Charming, chic, and effortlessly Parisian - just the right vibe for a flirty dinner or a cozy date with your bestie.

Feeling like lingering a little longer? Slide over to the bar, sip on something sparkling, and steal a glance in one of the many mirrors - after all, romance is all about the right angles.

Noord | Mediterranean | Price / Quality | Sauna

We have a confession to make: we’re not frequent visitors to Noord (this is only our second post about a place there…), but for love? We’d cross the IJ any day. And after our evening at Café Soleil we might just be falling for Noord. Open since May, it’s right next to its sister spot Klaproos (same owners, different concept, also worth a visit)

Café Soleil gave us Cradam vibes (if you know, you know), but with a more petite and intimate feel - basically perfect for date night. The open kitchen, high tables at the bar, white linen in the dining area, and soft candlelight create an atmosphere that feels effortlessly romantic. Oh, and did we mention? There’s a sauna in the backyard by the water. Yes, seriously.

The menu is packed with Mediterranean favorites, inspired by places where the sun always shines and the joyful Spanish music makes you feel like you’re actually there. So if you’re looking for a laid-back yet special place to wine, dine, and maybe even steal a kiss - this is your spot.

Bonus: the price-to-quality ratio is great.

In the charming Helmersbuurt, Café Kompleet has quickly become a neighborhood favorite - and honestly, we totally get why. With its warm atmosphere, modern takes on classic Dutch dishes, and just the right touch of romance, it’s the perfect spot for a cozy Valentine’s date.

From Brussels sprouts with Twentse bunker cheese and chorizo oil to their irresistible andijvie stamppot on Tuesdays, even the pickiest eaters will find something to love. And let’s not forget their impressive wine-by-the-glass selection - because what’s Valentine’s without a little wine and candlelight?

The space is thoughtfully designed, with a relaxed bar area up front and an intimate dining space in the back - ideal for long conversations, stolen glances, and lingering just a little longer. New in De Pijp, tucked on the corner - Juno is all about open-fire cooking, music café vibes, and incredible dishes to share. Perfect for a laid-back but exciting date night, where you can sip, snack, and let the evening unfold.

We kicked things off with a surprise dish. "What is it?" "I'm not telling you, I’ll explain later." Turns out- it was cow tongue. And honestly? We’re glad we didn’t know beforehand, because we never would have ordered it… but it was so good.

Our absolute favorite? The chicken - which is kinda funny, since this spot used to be Kip van ‘t Spit. Some things are just meant to be.

Whether you're here for a cozy dinner for two or a fun night out with friends, Juno delivers on flavor, atmosphere and fun.

Oost | Hidden Gem | Exquisiet Food | Natural Wines

This place… such a hidden gem! You wouldn’t expect to find such an idyllic spot on the Wibaustraat, but tucked behind a curtain of green, you’ll discover Alba.

Step inside, and it’s a whole different world. A modern, artsy, candle-lit basement that feels effortlessly intimate—the kind of place where time slows down and you don’t want to leave. Funky natural wines, refined yet approachable dishes, and that cozy glow? Yeah, this is date night magic.

We had this insanely good dish you have to try: Labneh - fennel - wild garlic - chimichurri, paired with warm, fluffy pita. It’s made for sharing, just like the rest of their petit dishes (and you know we love that).

Whether it’s just the two of you or a cozy dinner with friends, Alba has that easygoing romance that makes every moment feel special.

West | Italian style | Lively ambiance | 20 sit-down

Looking for a place to celebrate life in true Italian style? Volare in Amsterdam West is the place to be! Step right into Bombolini’s cocktail bar at the entrance, where Italian cocktails and homemade limoncello set the mood. 🍸

For private gatherings, their speakeasy bar downstairs offers a Tuscan countryside setting, perfect for special dinners or celebrations. After dinner, head on up to the bar for a fun night out! Whether it’s with family, friends, or colleagues, Volare turns every moment into a fiesta!

De Pijp | Dutch pub to yourself | 45 sit-down | 100 borrel

Looking for a private dining experience - Dutch style? Freddy, located next to Marie Heinekenplein in De Pijp, offers a modern yet nostalgic setting for a fun dinner and ‘biertjes’. The bar is shiny and green, the menu is packed with Dutch classics and we love the modern take and fancy white lined tables. Soak up the gezellige ambiance and make your event unforgettable!
